Success Stories . . . and tales of disaster?

The accounts and comments here have been sent in by people who have visited Sash-Style and had a go. Take them as encouragement or as cautionary tales . . . or both. The idea was inspired by an email from Fiona in Australia - see her story below:

June 2003

If at first . . .

Am just clearing out files and realised I never replied to your email last July. Your instructions were a great help and I was able to follow them very well.

I had a few mishaps tho. The top half of the window had been stuck which we discovered due to a large nail holding it shut. This removed enabled full use but unfortunately exerting a bit too much pressure on the frame broke the glass in the top window. Had to remove the whole window and get it glazed.

Followed your instructions and bought some new beading and had just got it all working ok and reassembled when I overbalanced on the ladder and stuck my knee through the bottom window. After much swearing decided I couldn't face taking it all apart again so bought glass and putty and did it myself.

Now works like a charm. - thanks, Fiona, Australia
